Dr. Ricky E. Allen, Pastor, SuperintendentPastor Allen, in addition to being the Pastor of City of Refuge, has been an educator with the Austin ISD since 1998. Pastor Allen holds degrees from Huston-Tillotson University and University of Texas at Austin. Pastor Allen & his wife Amanda reside in Austin with their 2 children, Timothy and Shundrayl. Elder William Holloway, Associate MinisterElder Holloway serves as President of our Brotherhood Ministry and heads up the prison ministry for men & women. He is challenging both men & women who have given their lives to Christ to become productive and prominent individuals in society. He also serves as Chaplain for the Central Texas District where Dr. Allen is Superintendent. He is married to Sis. Lolita Holloway and is the proud father of two boys and one girl. Shirley J. Brown, District MissionaryMissionary Brown serves as District Missionary and Supervisor of Women in the Central Texas District where Dr. Allen is Superintendent. She is a prolific and dynamic speaker and very faithful and obedient to her pastor. She is also a successful entrepenuer and owner of Seek & Save daycare center and her own fashion boutique, J's Boutique. Her wisdom is second to none as she advises and instructs women in their holy walk of life. She serves as chairperson of the Deaconess Board for the Texas Southeast III Jurisdiction where Bishop C.L. Bryant is Presiding Prelate. She is the proud mother of First Lady Amanda K. Allen and mother-in-law to Dr. Ricky Allen. Missionary Brown offers a warm and outgoing spirit to all she encounters.
Deacon Callie Brown, Sunday School Superintendent Deacon Brown serves as a Deacon and as Finance Chairman at City of Refuge. His candor and wisdom has helped many to further their journey through Christ. Deacon Brown also serves as our District Sunday School Superintendent. He is a devoted beacon of Christianity for others to follow. He is the husband of Missionary Shirley Brown and the proud father of First Lady Amanda K. Allen and father-in-law to Dr. Ricky Allen.
Deacon Sylvester Meyers Jr., Youth CoordinatorDeacon Meyers serves as a Deacon and President of the Youth department @ City of Refuge. He serves in any capacity needed and we can always count on him to get our services started with praise and worship. He is a loyal and devoted servant who serves willingly & diligently. Deacon Meyers also teaches our elementary and teenage Sunday School classes. He is a well-trusted armor bearer for Christ. Sylvester always has a ready, warm smile and a loving disposition. He portrays what youth for Christ should exemplify.
Carolyn Grant, Website ManagerCarolyn designed and manages the website for City of Refuge COGIC. Carolyn is married and has a 22 year old son. She & her husband Tommy reside in Bastrop, TX. Though she's not an official member of City of Refuge, her willingness to serve in any capacity needed brings her to worship with us from time to time. Carolyn prepares various publications and printing materials for the ministry. She enjoys singing, church activities & being a "computer nerd".
